About Me
I know what it feels like to be caught in the ups and downs of life—like riding a rollercoaster, holding on tightly through the twists while reaching for moments of joy. When I first went to therapy decades ago, I was looking for clarity, healing, and growth.
While I did find those, I didn’t know then how transformative the process could be. I didn’t realize how closed off I had been, or how empowering it would feel to take ownership of my life—even when so many things are outside our control. I learned that I could be my own advocate, my own safe place, and that prioritizing myself wasn’t selfish—it was necessary. I discovered that focusing on my own growth created a ripple effect, allowing me to show up more fully and authentically for the people I love. Embracing all parts of myself—the good, the bad, and everything in between—has helped me become the most authentic version of who I want to be.
This is what I help my clients do, too. If you’re tired of feeling “not good enough” or worn out from striving to become someone you think you should be, I invite you to reach out. No judgment. You set the pace, and you make the choices. I’m here to walk alongside you.
Professional Background
I earned my bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah in 1997 before dedicating several meaningful years to raising my three children. Now grown, they’ve gifted me the added joy of a daughter-in-law and two beautiful granddaughters.
My professional journey into counseling began with certification from The Life Coach School, where I learned powerful, present-focused tools like those in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Wanting to deepen my clinical understanding and support clients on a broader level, I began a master’s program in Marriage and Family Therapy at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego.
I bring both life experience and clinical training into my work. I’ve navigated many transitions, and I’m passionate about meeting each client exactly where they are—with compassion, curiosity, and encouragement to define and become their best self.
When I’m not studying or diving into another fascinating book on mental health, I love spending time outdoors hiking, relaxing with a good movie, traveling to visit my kids, and exploring all that San Diego has to offer. Although I’ve lived here for three years, I’m still discovering new favorite spots and restaurants. I’m also incredibly grateful to share life with my best friend and husband of 27 years. We enjoy most of these adventures together—though we definitely take turns picking the movie!
